Own Your Own Freelance Bookkeeping Business
There is a difference between knowing how to perform freelance bookkeeping services and knowing how to build and manage a business performing freelance bookkeeping services.
What is Freelance Bookkeeping?
Freelance bookkeeping is when an independent contractor bookkeeper performs bookkeeping services at the client's place of business. The level of the freelance bookkeeper's knowledge, skills, and experience depends on the needs of the client.
For example, a client may engage an entry level freelance bookkeeper to process sales and receipts, purchases and payments, reconcile the bank and credit card accounts, and work with the client's CPA or CPB.
A client may also engage a full-charge freelance bookkeeper to process sales and receipts, purchases and payments, reconcile the bank and credit card accounts, make account adjustments, maintain the general ledger, and prepare financial reports.

What We Do
Smith & Young, the nation's leading freelance bookkeeping firm, works behind the scenes and makes you the leading freelance bookkeeper in your area. In fact, we guarantee it.
You will increase your freelance bookkeeping service billings, profit, and cash flow if you participate in the Network.
How do we know we can do this? Because we are the leading freelance bookkeepers and we became the leader by developing and implemented our Freelance Bookkeeping System.
What Do You Do?
You spend all of your working time doing one of three things:
- Marketing and selling freelance bookkeeping services,
- Performing freelance bookkeeping services, or
- Billing freelance bookkeeping services.
Benefits
- Gain a Competitive Edge
- Increase Your Profit
- Consistently Generate Clients
- Increase Your Productivity
- Increase Your Cash Flow
- Retain Your Clients, Increase Client Billings and Referrals
Objective & Expectations
Business development is a process and not an event. Although you only commit to the Network one month at a time, business development results develop over time. The System is designed to average, at a minimum, one to three new clients each month in the first quarter, three to five new clients each month in the second quarter, five to ten new clients each month in the third quarter, and ten or more new clients each month in the fourth quarter. Obviously, your results depend on certain variables, such as the size of the market you serve, the service, and the quarter of the year.
For example, you'll generate fewer clients in a smaller rural market in one month as compared to a larger urban market . You'll generate more $100 monthly clients in one month as compared to $500 monthly clients. You'll generate more clients in the first quarter (January - March) as compared to the third quarter (July - September).
